Work-Wife Balance

Hear it from Lourdes Bolante, her project plan is all set to strike a balance between home and work.

If you want to be happy in your work, you need to find work that makes you happy 100% of your time. By cultivating your inner strength, enhancing your skills & knowledge and then organizing your work in a way that it does not torture you. The big point I want to emphasize is….

“The Good Life is one that is inspired by LOVE and Guided by KNOWLEDGE.”
-Bertrand Russel-

The secret to liking your job is finding a way of working that suits your natural strength and energy. You feel like a “SUPER HERO” when you are doing a great job that is being recognized and you are not killing yourself to do it.

Happier people are more engaged and productive and do higher quality work. I think the key to career satisfaction is self-evaluation, determining what you really like, what your interests are, and what’s of value to you. You need to identify your skills early, finding out which skills you’d like to enhance and which you don’t. Once you find that—and it could be through shadowing someone who you think is your mentor.

Currently, I am pursuing my courses (Six Sigma & Business Process Management) for my self-development and gratified about adding value to EFS Facilities Services to further strive towards its goal. I consider seeing myself in a win-win state, on one hand, my career development and on the other hand reaching closer to attaining self-fulfillment.

Let’s talk about work-life balance. It seems to be a pretty important factor in job satisfaction. Especially when you have your spouse at work, your productivity at work is likely to increase and yes, of course, we all tend to work harder when we are happy.

Additionally, if you are involved in a workplace relationship, your productivity is likely to increase even further as work becomes a unifying bond between you and your spouse.

The most delicate part is that if you focus much on your work, you’ll neglect the family, and this could have very serious consequences in the long run. In other words, it’s not enough to have a perfect work-life balance, you also need to have a “work-wife” balance.

In my own definition of “Work-Wife” Balance, it is the ability to tweak and manage your outward presence. From a typical housewife to a successful working woman at the office.

To sum up, if u asked me to fill in the sentence: “I love my job because…….”

That’s hard because there are so many things I like about my job. I’d have to say I love my job because it’s challenging, in a good way, and it’s rewarding. And the best part is “I love my job because it gives me the opportunity to exercise the BEST PARTS of who I am.”
